Find us: both Koh Phi Phi branches
Doctor Phi Phi Takecare Clinic has two branches on Koh Phi Phi, both open
24 hours, every day including public holidays. No appointment is needed at either,
at any hour.
How to reach us

The two branches
They are about ten minutes apart on foot. Both are doctor-staffed, both keep the same hours, and
both answer the same phone number. Use whichever is closer to where you are standing — at three in
the morning that is the only criterion that matters.

Towards Andaman Beach, about ten minutes on foot from the pier branch.
Street addressing on this island is close to nonexistent and there are no vehicles, so the map pin
will serve you far better than the postal address. Every dive shop, bar and hotel reception in Tonsai
knows where both clinics are — asking somebody as you walk works better than a phone screen at two in
the morning.
There is no wrong hour to come
A large share of what we treat arrives between midnight and four: burns from the fire shows,
cuts, ankles off the viewpoint steps, and people whose friends have become worried about them. None
of it has to wait for daylight.
If you are unsure whether something is worth coming in for, call and describe it. That is a
thirty-second conversation, it is free, and it saves a walk more often than not.
If you cannot get to us
A doctor can come to you on foot across Tonsai Village and Loh Dalum, usually within about half an
hour, at any hour — see doctor hotel visits. Long Beach and
the outlying eastern resorts take longer and may involve a boat.
When you call, give us the beach or the part of the village, the property name and the room
number, and have somebody meet the doctor at reception if the building is hard to find. Unlit stairs
and unsignposted properties are the commonest reason an arrival is slower than it should be.
What to bring
- Passport if you have it — not required in order to be treated
- Travel insurance details, mentioned at the start of the visit rather than the end
- Any medication you already take, ideally in its box or as a photo of the box
- For a child: their age and rough weight
- If you have been diving: how many dives, how deep, and how recently
Getting to and from Koh Phi Phi
Ferries run from Krabi and Phuket and take roughly ninety minutes to two hours. They operate in
daylight only and are cancelled in rough weather. After dark, the only way on or off the island is a
chartered speedboat.
Worth knowing before you need it, because it shapes every decision about whether something can
wait until morning — see evacuation and hospital transfer.
Emergencies
For chest pain, severe breathlessness, stroke symptoms, a serious head injury, uncontrolled
bleeding, a seizure, a near-drowning, or anybody who cannot be woken: call 1669 and
call us at the same time. Doing both at once is faster than doing them in order — we can be arranging
the boat while the mainland end is being organised.
